A desktop theme is a combination of Wallpaper, Icons, Cursors, Sounds and other stuff. Those items, as usually related to a “Theme” are linked together in a theme file, created with a suitable tool like e.g. Desktop Architect (not for XP).

Another useful tool which helps to individualize your desktop is IEmage. IEmage (Freeware) displays any picture in the toolbar of the Explorer or Outlook Express.

In addition to my theme there often are Logo (startup, shutdown ..) screens provided (Win 9x, only). In case you grabbed a logo file which you don’t like, and you don’t find original logo screens you can download here a set of the original StartUp and Shut Down screens.

Sometimes you may here no sound after installing a theme. The reason for this might be the use of layer3 encoded wav sounds. Those files are much smaller then the conventional wav files. To enable Windows playing those sounds you need the mp3codec. It enables Win9x to play mp3 coded wav files.
Get Mp3Codec here!.

The most themes provided on this page are packed as self extracting exe. When explorer ask you to “ to open file at the current location” or “ save to disk” you must chose “save to disk”. Otherwise you will see a lot of bits and bytes in your browser.

I try my best to ensure all themes working fine. However if something doesn’t work, do me the favor and inform me. It is very annoying to fix a big bug in a theme or a program, after it has been downloaded many times.
